Ready, Set, Explore!
Emotional development is key to children’s development! Join us and watch your child explore every learning opportunity with curiosity, exploration, and socialization. Enjoy parent/child time which includes songs, activities, and games that you and your child will love.

Location: Early Learning at Brooklyn Center Elementary
- Program Dates: June 24th - July 17th
- Program Time: 8:30am - 9:45am (every Tuesday - Thursday)
- Cost: Free
- Type of Class: This is a family class. Parent/Guardian must attend class with the child.

Practice Preschool
This summer we will offer 3 days a week, half-day preschool program for 3 and 4-year-olds. Students discover the world around them through fun, hands-on activities.
- Age group: Children who will be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2025.

STEP
STEP offers daily academic and enrichment opportunities. Licensed teachers, qualified youth program staff, and community partners will work with students to help them identify their interests and strengths and develop their academic skills. Students will be able to self-select clubs of interest from such areas as physical activity, music and arts, STEAM, and more.

LEAP
LEAP offers exciting enrichment activities in such areas as arts, entrepreneurship, youth leadership, physical activity, STEM, and more! Middle schoolers will also have time to gain skills in reading and math. The program is led by licensed teachers and qualified youth program staff.

Youth Employment Opportunities at Brooklyn Center Middle and High School
Students who are eligible can participate in this year's youth employment opportunities. Gain valuable experience for your resume through the Garden Internship, Youth Participatory Action Research Team, or Minnesota Trades Academy.

Credit Recovery & Acceleration
This summer, Credit Recovery and Acceleration sessions will be offered so students can work with counselors and teachers to earn necessary academic credits. In partnership with Insight Online School of Minnesota, courses are offered virtually. On-site study hall, meals, and transportation are offered to students who are interested.
- Age Group: Students entering grades 10-12 in fall 2025.
- Eligibility: Students must be enrolled at BCCS to participate.
- Program Dates: June 16th - July 24th
- Program Time: Times may vary (On-site Study Hall Hours 9:30am - 1:00pm)
- Cost: Free
- Transportation: Provided for those who qualify.
- Breakfast and Lunch: Provided to all participants.

Centaur Plus
Centaur Plus is a child care program that provides fun and engaging activities for school age children during after-school, non-school days and summer.

- Location: Brooklyn Center Elementary
- Program Dates: June 10th - August 15th (Mondays - Fridays)
- Times: 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Transportation: Not provided

- Cost: $29 per day

Summer Preschool Prep
Our full day preschool class allows 3 & 4 year old scholars to discover the world around them through fun, hands-on learning and an engaging curriculum.
- Age Group: Children ages 3-4 years old.
- Location: Located inside of Early Learning at Brooklyn Center Elementary School
- Program Dates: June 17th - August 14th (Tuesdays - Thursdays)
- Times: 7:30am - 3:30pm
- Breakfast and Lunch: Provided daily.

- Cost: $90 per week

Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) - ECSE
Extended school year services are required by the State of Minnesota for students with disabilities to attain and maintain skills identified in annual goals and in order to provide a free, appropriate public education. Elementary ESY integrates with STEP to provide ESY services and enrichment opportunities. Secondary ESY integrates with LEAP to provide ESY services and enrichment opportunities. ESY often does not address all of the IEP services on a student’s IEP, but only those IEP goals for which a student qualifies for ESY services. A student must be determined eligible for ESY through the IEP team process.

- ESY - Grades 7-12 (Insight Online): Will be scheduled during typical school day timeframes with the ESY Special Education teacher based on the services identified in the IEP.
