A Message from Superintendent Dr. Carly Baker

Posted: November 3, 2025

Dear BCCS Families,

As the federal government shutdown continues,  the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have been paused as of November 1, 2025. While we do not know how long this program will be paused, we do know that many of our families will be impacted.

Changes to food access can deeply impact students and families. As a community schools district, we serve the whole child and work to eliminate barriers to learning so that each child can freely pursue their potential. We know that food security is an essential part of student learning and success.

Explore district resources, local and state-wide food shelves and pantries, and community partner services below. We understand that changes to food benefits can impact your family’s routine. If you need support during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted staff member.

Sincerely: Dr. Carly Baker, Superintendent
