Resources available during summer 2021

Brooklyn Center Community Schools continues to offer important resources for students, families, and community members during the summer. 

Health Services

Our Health Resource Center, located at Brooklyn Center Middle and High School STEAM, provides free and low-cost medical, dental, vision, and mental health services to youth of Brooklyn Center Schools and community members ages 0-19, in partnership with Park Nicollet Clinic. Walk-ins are available on Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. Dental Services are by appointment only and are provided by Children’s Dental Services. Call 763-450-3385 x5100 to schedule an appointment at the Health Resource Center.

Mental Health Services

We partner with several organizations to provide mental health services. Services are available virtually and in-person by appointment only. For a referral contact a school social worker, counselor, or Julie Gilasevitch, mental health resources coordinator, at 

Family Resources

Our Family Resource Rooms, located at both Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM and Brooklyn Center Middle and High School STEAM, offer a multitude of services. Families can find resources for shelter and food, receive support in applying for a job, get help on immigration needs, connect with translators and cultural liaisons, access computers, and more. Both rooms are open in-person for students during summer programs and by appointment only for the public. To schedule an appointment, call:

Social Emotional Support

We partner with Cornerstone to offer youth-centered advocacy, prevention, and education services. Wilson Yang is available virtually to connect with students to provide social emotional support, skills building, victim support and advocacy. Email to schedule an appointment. 

Sexual Health Services

Our partnership with Annex Teen Clinic provides confidential sexual health services and education. Appointments can be made by calling 763-533-1316.
