What was your favorite part about your time at the ECA? My favorite part of the ECA would be my teachers and the school environment. The ECA teachers are engaging and make coming to school enjoyable. The school is comfortable and makes me feel like being part of a family. I am not a big-school person so the size of this school is perfect. Ms. Salokar is my favorite teacher. She’s like a second mom to me. She’s such a nice person and she’s nurturing. I feel comfortable telling her what’s going on in my life because she’s there to help.
What advice would you give to your younger self or a student who will start at the ECA in the fall? Don’t stress out too much. Everyone at the ECA is here to work with you and will help you succeed. We’re all here to help each other out, too. Staff keep you updated so you know where you’re at in your coursework. It’s enjoyable and stress relieving even though you don’t know anyone when you first get here. Teachers do their best to make sure you understand your courses.
How do you feel prepared for the next chapter of your life? The teachers at the ECA and my family have prepared me with the social, academic and time management skills needed to succeed in whatever comes next in my life. They also helped with mental preparation.
What are your plans after graduating? When I graduate, I plan on attending Hennepin Technical College where I will major in audio production and business management. My life dream is to be a music producer and to be an entrepreneur. I want to make people happy through clothing and music.
