March is Disability Awareness Month

On February 26, 1987 President Ronald Reagan officially declared Proclamation 5613 making March National Disabilities Awareness Month. The proclamation called for people to provide understanding and opportunities so that people with disabilities could lead fulfilling lives.

There is still a long way to go to ensure equal access and inclusive spaces for those with disabilities, from school to the workplace and everywhere in between. At BCCS, this is a part of our work to stand front and center for every student.
