Water Pipe Break: 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway Building

Subject: Water Pipe Burst at 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway

 

Dear BCCS Families,

 

This message is to inform you of a water valve break that occurred at 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway last night and has flooded portions of the first floor of the building. At 6:30am today, we notified 5910 staff and families that Centaur Beginnings would be closed today and the Early College Academy (ECA) would move to an e-learning day from home.

 

Upon further inspection of the building, the water valve that broke was located on the second floor above the Early College Academy. The only spaces to sustain water damage are the ECA classrooms and common spaces. 

 

We do not believe that this was caused by current construction, rather by the age of the building. A restoration team has been on-site all day and has already begun cleaning. They will work through the long weekend as we prepare for next week.

 

At this time, please expect the following:

 

  • Centaur Beginnings will reopen on Tuesday, February 21 for normal programming.

  • The Early College Academy will be e-learning from home Tuesday, February 21 through Friday, February 24. ECA Families will receive e-learning details from Dr. Robinson on Tuesday morning.

  • Brooklyn Center Elementary and Brooklyn Center Middle and High School will stay open and operate as normal.

 

We recognize the strain this puts on our staff and families who are directly impacted and will do everything we can to return to in-person learning at the ECA as soon as possible.

Ruptura de una tubería de agua en  5910 Shingle Creek Parkway

 

Estimadas familias de BCCS,

 

Este mensaje es para informarles sobre la ruptura de una tubería de agua que ocurrió anoche,en la siguiente dirección: 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway y que ha inundado partes del primer piso del edificio. A las 6:30 de la mañana, notificamos al personal y a las familias que Centaur Beginnings estaría cerrado hoy y qué Early College Academy(ECA) tendría aprendizaje virtual hoy desde sus hogares.  .

 

Luego de hacer una inspección del edificio, la tubería que se rompió fue localizada en el segundo piso, sobre Early College Academy. Los únicos lugares que fueron dañados por el agua fueron los salones de clase de ECA y los espacios comunes. 

 

No creemos que esto haya sido causado por la construcción actual, sino por la antigüedad del edificio. Un equipo de restauración ha estado en el lugar todo el día y ya han empezado a limpiar. Trabajarán durante el fin de semana largo para prepararnos para la semana próxima. 

 

En este momento, se comunica lo siguiente:

 

  • Centaur Beginnings :reabrirá el martes, 21 de febrero, con sus programas regulares.

  • Early College Academy : los estudiantes tendrán e- learning ( aprendizaje virtual) desde sus hogares desde el martes, 21 de febrero al viernes 24 de febrero.

  • Brooklyn Center Elementary y Brooklyn Center Middle and High School permanecerán abiertas y funcionarán en forma normal. 

 

Reconocemos la inconveniencia que esto causa a nuestro personal y a las familias directamente impactadas y haremos todo lo posible  para retornar a las clases en persona en ECA tan pronto como sea posible.
