Celebrating new signage and artwork in BCCS buildings
Monday, January 25, 2021
As Brooklyn Center Community Schools starts to welcome students back into the buildings, BCCS also celebrates new BCCS Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) branding and artwork across the district.
Many of the new signage features inspirational language to motivate students and inspire them to live up to the bold values and mission of BCCS. Bright signs in front of Brooklyn Center Elementary School STEAM will remind children everyday as they enter the building, “you belong.” Students at Brooklyn Center Middle and High School STEAM will be inspired to “build a beautiful future.”
New expressions of the BCCS visual identity — logo, type, language and personality — are on display in high traffic areas, such as the newly-remodeled middle and high school commons, gymnasium, hallways and more.
“The purpose of our new artwork and signage is to really bring STEAM and our new brand to life,” said Superintendent Dr. Carly Baker. “We want students to be proud of themselves and their school and that starts with beautiful learning spaces.”
One year ago this month, Brooklyn Center Community School launched its new brand identity. The process of developing the brand involved student and staff engagement, focus groups, and research. Learn more about the brand development through this video.
