Brooklyn Center Middle and High School STEAM construction complete

When construction began on Brooklyn Center Middle and High School back in the summer of 2019, the comprehensive plan was crafted to touch nearly every space in the building with the following objectives:

  • Improve school safety by designing secure building entrances
  • Remodel existing classrooms to better support learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM)
  • Create separate areas for middle school and high school students at BCS
  • Address deferred maintenance

In addition, new expressions of the Brooklyn Center visual identity — logo, type, language and personality — will be on display in high traffic areas, such as the newly-remodeled middle and high school commons, gymnasium, fine arts wing and more.

Normally, we would offer an open house for the community this fall to visit our newly remodeled spaces. Because of COVID-19, we are limiting the number of visitors in our spaces so this opportunity will be postponed to a future time.
