A special note to the Class of 2020
Monday, March 23, 2020
Dear BCCS Class of 2020 Seniors:
We want to start off by saying that we understand how hard this is for you to be cooped up at home right now. The snow is melting and this is the start of the traditions that are the most fun to celebrate YOU and all of your accomplishments. The end to your senior year is the culmination of so many years of hard work for you and your families. We want you to know that we want to celebrate each and every one of you. We want to thank your parents for everything they have invested in you. What these celebrations and expressions of gratitude might look like for all of us remains unknown.
As we begin distance learning on Monday, April 6, we enter a learning environment where things are new and uncharted. We want you to know that we are here to support you, and we want to think about these senior rites of passage and traditions WITH you.
We will hold regular student leadership meetings starting this week. We will also plan specific senior-focused meetings in the coming weeks. Senior teachers will be in contact with you this week to touch base about the best way for us to connect with you moving forward. Counselors and special education teachers will also be reaching out soon.
Information will be coming out about:
- Procedures for Chromebook pickups
- APEX/credit recovery
- Current graduation status
- Support needs and learning plans
In the meantime, take time to reflect and connect with those closest to you. Your generation is the most digitally connected yet. Use those familiar tools to keep your network of peers close. Teachers will be reaching out to each of you this week. Stay focused on finishing strong with your studies in the coming months.
We are in this with you and will be by your side the whole way. We miss your lovely faces already.
And always remember- it’s a Great Day to be a Centaur!
