Update to BCCS families – Monday evening

5 p.m., Monday, April 12

Dear BCCS Families:

We wanted to share another update with our community about what the next few days will look like for our school district.

Distance learning continues

We will remain in distance learning on Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14. Wednesday was already a planned distance learning day in our current hybrid learning model. We will reevaluate our learning model on Wednesday night for the rest of the week. All programs, including Centaur Plus and Centaur Beginnings, and all after-school activities are also canceled. Buildings will be open for meal distribution, essential items pick-up and other resources for the community.

Elementary families, please check your student's Seesaw for communication from their teacher and a link to access their Zoom class.

Meal distribution

Meal distribution will take place following the normal Wednesday routes on Tuesday, April 13. Students can expect to receive one breakfast and one lunch meal tomorrow. The community can also pick-up meals at Brooklyn Center Elementary from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. We hope to continue meal distribution throughout the week but we will share another update tomorrow. Click here to view the current meal distribution schedule.

Essential items available at the Blue Barn

Community members in need of essential items can visit the Blue Barn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week to pick-up items. Click here for more information.

Protesting resources

For our students and families that plan to participate in the peaceful protests tonight, please be aware that the cities of Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis and St. Paul have declared curfews starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Also, here are a few resources if you plan to peacefully protest tonight:
