Summer Programs and Activities for grades 6-12 students

    STEP 21 Summer

    Age group: Students entering grades 1-5 in fall 2020 at Earle Brown Elementary STEAM

    Format: Virtual/distance learning

    Program dates: Monday – Thursday, June 22 – July 30

    STEP 21 offers participants exciting academic and enrichment opportunities to enhance their learning outside of the classroom. This summer, STEP 21 participants will have live virtual meetings with licensed teachers and qualified youth program staff each day. In addition to working on math and literacy daily, students will select from clubs in such categories as arts, physical activity, STEM, leadership and more! Program participants will use their district-issued devices for virtual sessions. Supplies for most activities and meals will be distributed.

    LEAP 21

    Age group: Students entering grades 6-9 in fall 2020 at Brooklyn Center Middle and High School STEAM

    Format: Virtual/distance learning

    Program dates: Monday – Thursday, June 22 – July 30

    LEAP 21 helps students accelerate their skills in reading and math and offers exciting enrichment activities in such areas as arts, entrepreneurship, youth leadership, physical activity, STEM, and more! The program is led by licensed teachers and qualified youth program staff. Students will use their district-issued device and receive other learning materials to participate from home.
