Nutrition Services
Students who eat breakfast and lunch every day have higher academic achievement and fewer behavior challenges than students who skip meals. At Brooklyn Center Community Schools, we do everything we can to make sure students are healthy, life-long learners.
Nutritious, creative breakfast and lunch
School lunch isn’t what it used to be! We offer whole grains, fresh salad bars and international cuisine to keep students satisfied and ready to learn.
Free & Reduced Lunch
We are pleased to inform you that Brooklyn Center Schools ISD#286 will be implementing a new provision available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. It is called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and will begin this fall for the 2022-2023 school year. Through this provision, all students enrolled at BCCS are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2023-24 school year.
Application for Educational Benefits
Our district is eligible to receive additional state and federal funds based on the number of students enrolled who reside in households that meet established federal income guidelines. We use the Application for Educational Benefits to collect household information. If you have not already, you still need to complete the Application for Educational Benefits and turn it into your front office by Oct. 17, 2024. See the attached document or click here to fill out your application online.
Pay Online For School Meals
You can use our ParentVue online parent portal to stay on top of your child’s attendance and progress, and pay securely for all your student’s meals through Fee Pay. If you are not signed up for ParentVue, contact dbeach@bccs286.org. We will then send your access key and directions for logging in.

Spirit Food Fund
Brooklyn Center Community Schools, ISD 286, is dedicated to preparing high-quality, affordable meals for all students. School meals help students sustain the energy they need to be successful in the classroom.
Though nothing should stand in the way of a child's access to a nutritious meal, many families experience financial difficulties and cannot afford to keep money in their student's school lunch account. That is why Brooklyn Center Community Schools has created a Spirit Food Fund. Families and community members are invited to donate to the Spirit Food Fund to help a student in need pay for a school meal.
How to donate to the Spirit Food Fund:
Click here to download the Spirit Food Fund form and submit with your check or money order (please do not send cash) payable to the ISD 286 Spirit Food Fund.
