Communication

The mission of the communication department is to regularly communicate with families, students, the community and staff members and to celebrate the unique accomplishments and people in Brooklyn Center Community Schools.

Severe & Winter Weather

The decision to close school is complex with many factors to consider. When making a decision to close or delay school, student safety is the district’s top priority. Generally, the expectation is that school will remain open, so learning can continue as scheduled, however there are times when closing or delaying school may be necessary. This information is intended to be a guide, when unusual circumstances occur.

Emergency Communications

NEW for 23-24 School Year! Brooklyn Center Community Schools is rolling out an updated Emergency Response Protocol to establish consistent and simple language to enhance transparency in the event of an emergency.

We have partnered with The I Love You Guys Foundation to update our emergency procedures, response protocols, and emergency language. In addition, we have worked closely with the city of Brooklyn Center to ensure our response protocols meet or exceed standard response protocol recommendations.

ParentVue & StudentVue

ParentVue connects Brooklyn Center parents, caregivers, and students to our school information system.Through ParentVue, you can check on attendance, grades, behavior, tests results, experience. ParentVue is the easiest way to report an absence and receive notifications for absences or grade drops.

Canvas & Seesaw

Brooklyn Center Community Schools uses Canvas as our learning management system that supports online learning and teaching for students in grades 6-12. To help support your student's learning activities, Parents & Guardians can claim an Observer role, which allows them to view courses where their students are enrolled, view the course syllabus and calendar, and monitor their student’s performance on Canvas assignments.

Brooklyn Center Community Schools also uses Seesaw as our learning management system that supports online learning and teaching for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Seesaw is where your child's learning lives. It’s where home-school communication lives. All in one place! Let’s get you connected.
