Dear BCCS Families,
The National Weather Service’s Excessive Heat Warning continues today bringing dangerously hot conditions outside with heat index values up to 116 degrees.
Out of an abundance of caution, all outdoor athletic activities on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 have been canceled. All indoor athletic activities today will proceed as normal unless notified otherwise.
Again, extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. If you are experiencing symptoms of heat exhaustion, seek emergency medical help as soon as possible.
During a heat advisory, here are some precautionary measures you can take:

Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Stay in air-conditioned rooms as much as possible.

Stay out of the sun.

Do not leave young children or pets left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
