Community school resources available during the 2025-26 school year

Brooklyn Center Community Schools is proud to offer resources as part of its community schools model throughout the 2025-26 school year. With the support of community partners and programming, we offer a range of services and support to address academic and nonacademic barriers to students’ education, wellness, and success.

HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER (HRC)

Our Health Resource Center provides free and low-cost health services to youth of Brooklyn Center Schools and community members ages 0-19. A signed BCS Consent Form  or BCE Consent Form is required annually from parents/guardians (both of these forms include dental consent forms as well). MEDICAL SERVICES

Services include medical treatment (including immunizations), well-child checkups, physicals, and more! 

  • Walk-in services at Brooklyn Center STEAM (BCS) Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-5 p.m.  
  • Walk-in services at the Early College Academy (ECA) E/O Tuesday 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. 
  • Walk-in and appointment services at Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM (BCE) Mondays and Wednesdays 1p.m-5p.m. 

Please note: During school breaks, the walk-in clinic is open one day per week at BCS and BCE only. 

DENTAL SERVICES 

Children’s Dental Services provides a full range of restorative and preventative care at low-cost. With or without insurance, services are available for BCCS and community 0-26 years old or pregnant. Services are provided twice monthly, on Mondays at BCS and as needed at BCE. Services at BCE are exams only, no restorative or preventative services. 

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES 

Mental health therapy and wellness are provided daily for insured and un-insured students.

EYE EXAMS AND GLASSES 

A Chance to Grow (ACTG) and Park Nicollet provide FREE and LOW COST eye exams, fittings, and glasses for insured and un-insured students. ACTG provides services at BCS one Tuesday each month. Eye services provided by Park Nicollet take place at the Brookdale clinic by appointment only. 

SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES AND EDUCATION 

The Annex Teen Clinic provides free and confidential sexual health services and education to students.

SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT SERVICES 

Cornerstone MN provides free sexual violence and relationship support to students every Tuesday at BCS. The first 3 sessions do not need parental consent. 

FREE ASSISTANCE WITH HEALTH INSURANCE APPLICATIONS 

Portico Healthnet provides state and Medicaid insurance navigation by appointment on Thursdays at BCS from 1-5p, free of cost. This includes applications and renewals. 

FAMILY RESOURCE ROOMS

Family Liaisons staff our Family Resource Rooms and can assist families in acquiring basic needs such as food, clothing, health insurance, county services, utility assistance and more. Call your liaison to discuss available services!
