What groups, activities or sports have you been involved in throughout your high school career?

Throughout high school, I joined a few clubs like Chess and Robotics, and I also volunteered with my brother in the Key Club, which is a student-led service organization. Looking back, I do wish I had the opportunity to participate in more activities and explore different interests. I really encourage everyone to get involved and make the most of their experiences—it can be a lot of fun and incredibly rewarding!

What is your favorite memory from high school?

I have so many wonderful memories that it's tough to pick just one! But one that always brings a smile to my face is when we went on a school field trip. My friends and I decided to give rollerblading a shot, and let me tell you, we had a blast—even though we spent more time bumping into each other than actually skating! It was such a fun day filled with laughter and happy moments.

Is there a staff member who has gone beyond for you? If so, who? How have they gone beyond?

I'd like to thank Ms. Etim for supporting me throughout my high school journey. She was always available to help and answer my questions, which played a significant role in my decision to take PSEO classes. That choice has been life-changing for me. I also want to give a shoutout to Mr. Franklin for being a chill teacher and making class more fun and engaging for all the students!

As Centaurs, we stand front and center. What do you stand front and center for?

I’m all about jumping into new adventures and discovering knowledge! I love finding ways to improve myself, and I think it’s super important to have fun while doing it. Life is too short not to enjoy every little moment, so let’s seek out what we want from it and have a blast together!

What does it mean to you to be a Centaur?

For me, being a Centaur is all about being true to yourself, standing strong in what you believe, and being there for the amazing community you’re part of!

What are your plans after graduation?

I will complete my AAS degree in cybersecurity and enter the workforce. I plan on obtaining a bachelor's degree in the future when I have the opportunity and availability.

What advice would you give someone just starting high school?

Your freshman year is an important time for setting the tone for the rest of your high school experience, and I understand it can feel overwhelming at times. Remember, teachers and staff are here to support you, so please don’t feel shy about reaching out with questions or seeking new opportunities. If you feel ready, consider taking a college course—many students find them to be enjoyable and not as daunting as they initially thought. I had a lot of fun in my PSEO classes and would definitely recommend it. There is a wide variety of classes you can choose from, and choosing classes that align with your hobbies and interests is perfectly okay. This is a great chance to explore what you love without the added pressure of finances that college might bring. I want to encourage you not to worry too much about deciding your future path right now. High school is all about discovering the opportunities available to you. Remember, stressing out will only wear you down before you can truly start exploring the exciting options ahead. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to enjoy this journey!
