Canceling BCS After-School Activities and Events Today

Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 1:45pm

Dear BCCS Families,

The City of Brooklyn Center has notified us that there is potential for a protest on Humboldt Avenue tonight in response to a city council vote at yesterday’s meeting. We anticipate increased traffic and congestion around Brooklyn Center Secondary this evening.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will be canceling all enrichment, after school programs, activities, and events at Brooklyn Center Secondary this afternoon (Tuesday, January 23, 2024).

  • FAFSA Night at BCS is canceled and will be rescheduled for tomorrow night: Wednesday, January 24th.

  • Middle School Basketball Game (vs. Oakdale) is canceled.

  • The high school boys basketball game (s) played at Robinsdale Cooper have been canceled and will be rescheduled (updated at 2:15pm).

Brooklyn Center Secondary will continue the school day as normal and plan for normal release procedures. If your middle or high school child needs to be picked up after school due to this cancellation, please plan accordingly.

The safety of our young people is our number one priority. We will continue to monitor tonight’s events and provide additional information as needed.
