BCCS Celebrates Black History Month 2025

February is Black History Month! Carter G. Woodson founded Black History Month in 1915 as a way to ensure the contributions, power, brilliance, and resilience of Black people are never forgotten. Brooklyn Center Community Schools takes this time to recognize the people who have fought for freedom, shaped the Civil Rights Movement, and continue to be a model for communities fighting for justice and peace. Holding true to our mission, vision, and values, we are committed to shining a light on the accomplishments of the Black community year round.

Students, staff, families, and community members are welcome and encouraged to join us in celebrating this month through any of the following ways.
