Dear BCCS Families, 

As you know, when the district purchased the 5910 building in the summer of 2022, it was our intent to not only invest into our community but to also be able to expand our programming facilities. Since then, we have engaged in construction throughout the building, moved the district office to the second floor, and have now begun the next phase of this exciting transition sooner than originally anticipated. 

We are excited to announce that in August 2024 the Early College Academy will be moving up to the second floor of the building and the following departments and teams will be officially relocated to 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway.

• Centaur Beginnings 
• Centaur Preschool 
• Centaur Plus
• Early Learning 
• Early Childhood Special Education

During this renovation, we are also able to create intentional community spaces that allow for further relationship building and resource distribution with our community. The following new spaces will also be established:

• Elder’s Community Room
• Family Resource Room
• Adult Basic Education Classrooms
• BCCS Welcome & Enrollment Center (currently planned to open in September 2024)

We know this change will impact the daily routines of our families, especially our youngest families, and thank you in advance for your patience through our transition. We are excited about the future of our Early Learning and Alternative Programming at Brooklyn Center Community Schools and look forward to sharing upcoming construction plans with you in the coming months.
