Say Something

Ensuring that all of our students, teachers, and staff feel safe and supported at school is a top priority for Brooklyn Center Community Schools. Keeping our schools safe requires a proactive approach that empowers our entire school community – students, educators, and other caring adults – to take meaningful action to protect our schools. To do so, our entire community needs to work together to stay aware and act quickly when safety concerns arise. If you see something, say something. We always encourage our community to share and report concerns directly with school leaders or use the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System.
Students often know firsthand what their peers are going through. We want to teach them how to spot signs of danger and how to get help from a trusted adult. Because so many students connect online, we also want to help them look out for each other on social media, in texts, and in videos. The district provides an anonymous tip reporting tool that enables students, staff, parents/guardians and community members to anonymously report student bullying, behavior and safety concerns 24/7, without fear of retribution. The system provides our students, staff, parents and community members with an easily accessible and anonymous method of reporting any issue of concern, incident or at-risk behavior

Think Before You Post
The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System program is provided at no cost by Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), a national nonprofit organization. Millions of youth and adults nationwide have participated in their evidence-informed “Know the Signs” programs, which includes Say Something. They have a proven track record of working effectively with kids, parents, and teachers to improve school safety and strengthen an inclusive school culture. We know this program will do the same for our district. (For more information, visit SandyHookPromise.org.)
