Calendar
- The Special Education Advisory Council provides an opportunity for parents of children with disabilities to be involved in district policy and decision making.
- Parents and staff come together to share ideas, identify concerns, and develop strategies to ensure that quality educational programs are provided for all learners.
- Our purpose is to advocate for high quality programs and services necessary to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
- Our goal is to improve the educational opportunities for students with disabilities, working as partners in a collaborative relationship.
- Any parent/legal guardian of a current BCCS student that receives special education services is welcome to attend. Staff members are welcome as well.

November is Native American Heritage Month! Our BC family is comprised of people with various identities, stories, and perspectives all of whom enrich our community. All are invited to join us for Indigenous games and storytelling with Dr. Dan Ninham, family BINGO with prizes, and light refreshments.

Purpose
- The purpose of the AIPAC is to assist Brooklyn Center Community Schools in providing effective school programs and services for American Indian students.
- The AIPAC will provide parents/guardians/family of American Indian children enrolled in the district with information and opportunities to express their views concerning all aspects of education that affect their children.
- The AIPAC will ensure that programs are planned, operated, and evaluated with the involvement of and in consultation with parents/guardians/family of students served by the programs.
Membership
- Membership shall be voluntary and may consist of parents/guardians/family members of American Indian students currently enrolled in Brooklyn Center schools, secondary students (grades 6-12), community members who live and/or work within district boundaries, and teaching staff and/or administrators.

- This event is held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday September through May.
