Dear Brooklyn Center Community Elementary STEAM Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Keisha Davis and I am the new principal of your school. Most people call me “Principal Davis”. I am so excited about beginning this year with your family and hope your family is ready to come back to school. In this letter, you will find information about The Centaur Block Party, Open House, the school supply list and how you will know who your classroom teacher is. Read below for more information.

The Inaugural Centaur Block Party is coming up. This will take place this Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. The location is in the secondary building at 6500 Humboldt Ave. N. 55430. You and your scholars are invited. Please click here for more information.

Open House is scheduled for Monday, August 29, 2022 from 11:15am to 7pm and Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 8am to 3:45pm. That’s right! 2 opportunities to come, so choose 1 day and stop by between the times shown. This is an opportunity for your family to greet the teacher, drop off school supplies, complete information and sign up to be a volunteer. There will also be bouncy houses, popcorn and more on Monday, August 29th from 4-7pm. If you know which day and time you plan on coming to Open House, please let your classroom teacher know once they contact you. We look forward to seeing you there,

The school supply list can be found on our district website or simply by clicking here. Some school supplies will be given away at the block party and at school during Open House.

Finally, you are probably wondering who your classroom teacher will be. You will receive an email from your teacher welcoming you to school and introducing them to you. Your teacher will email you (towards the end of the week) the week of August 22nd. Please continue to check your email for more updates in the coming days.

The first day of school for Pre-Kindergarteners and Kindergarteners will be Tuesday, September 6th.

The first day of school for First through Fifth Graders (1st-5th Graders) will be Wednesday, September 7th.

Arrival: Doors open at 7:30am for scholars to enter the building during the school year. Please stay with your child until doors open as there is no supervision before this time.

Dismissal: Walkers and Family pick-up is at 1:50pm. Scholars who use bus transportation board the bus at 2pm.
