STEP 21

  • STEP is an additional academic and enrichment opportunity to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. STEP at Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM focus on academics, technology, enrichment, and health and wellness. The STEP program offers a variety of alternative learning techniques and experiences to enhance the academic environment.  The main goal of STEP is to give students the tools, techniques, strengths and confidence as a learner to be successful. Students are also able to explore and focus in areas of interest.

    Who qualifies to participate?

    All Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM students are welcome to register and participate on a first come first serve basis!

    Current Clubs & Activities

    Unless otherwise stated, all clubs and activities are virtual and run 2:15-3:15pm. Click the registration link below for further schedule information.

    Art Club, K-2 - Create using different mediums of art.

    Chill, Chat & Color Club, K-2 & 3-5 - Unwind,  connect and hangout with your friends on zoom as you work on a different project to color each week. 

    Game Show Club, 3-5 - Join a live interactive game of Kahoot or Jeopardy each week with your friends! 

    Games 'N Things, K-2 - Join live interactive games with your friends each week!

    Mad Science Club, 3-5 - Come and conduct several science experiments!

    Media Club, 3-5 - Come and explore the world of Media. Students will create content through journalism and social media on private STEP platforms. 

    Rec on the Go! - IN PERSON! In partnership with the City of Brooklyn Center Parks and Recreation, STEP and Rec on the Go are offering fun, outdoor recreation activities! You do not need to sign up for individual sessions to participate. Additionally, participants do not need to be pre-registered, so friends, siblings, and cousins are welcome to tag along!     Snow Week - Available to all BCE students! Snow week is designed to give students the opportunity to interact and play with their classmates, friends, and staff while teachers plan for the Hybrid and BCO learning models starting in February.     Three Rivers Park District Activities: Midnight Sledding and Recess Recreation - IN PERSON! In partnership with Three Rivers Park District, STEP is offering fun outdoor recreation activities! You do not need to sign up for individual sessions to participate. Additionally, participants do not need to be pre-registered, so friends, siblings, and cousins are welcome to tag along!     Winter Wonderland Club, K-2 - Explore all things Winter! Crafts, art projects,  stories, snacks and so much more.
