We Go Beyond

Nurturing Curiosity. Cultivating Community. Raising healthy kids.

Anti-Racism in Brooklyn Center

Instead of avoiding discomfort, we work to reject our biases — big or small — by confronting them with ferocity and compassion.

Students First

We’re here to nurture the love of learning in each child. Our greatest success is when students truly discover their unique genius and embrace a life of authenticity and purpose.

Stronger Families. Healthier Communities.

Our integrated focus on academics, health, and social services leads to improved student learning,
because we know that learning starts when basic needs are met.

Family at an outdoor event

As a Community School District with nearly 100 partnerships with community organizations, we’re able to better serve the whole child — eliminating barriers to learning so that each child can freely pursue their potential.

Through hands-on learning, we weave science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics into student experiences at each grade level, from pre-K through grade 12.

Smiling Students

In Brooklyn Center, we want everything we offer to reflect the community we’re a part of. We use inclusive processes — amplifying student, staff and community voices — to shape district decisions, introduce programs, and inform curriculum choices. When we all contribute, we create a loving place where learners can thrive.

We work to equip every student with the knowledge, life skills, and global perspectives to contribute to an ever-changing world.

From Our Community

Above and Beyond

Throughout my four years here at Brooklyn Center High School, I had many great relationships with my teachers who had gone above and beyond for my education and personal life. I am truly grateful for the countless time and effort they give me in order to ensure my success.

George Yang, Class of 2021 Alumnus

Strong and United

To me, being a Centaur means to stand strong and united. Growing up in the BC district has taught me that one of the most important things in life is having a community, one that stands together and cherishes diversity.

Jaden Nguyen, Class of 2023

Diverse Population

I absolutely love and admire the Brooklyn Center community where my husband and I were able to call home for many years. I love the diversity of the population we serve and work with. I love that our students feel welcome and a sense of belonging in an environment full of educators that look like them.
